Responsibilities included computer programming, data collection, data analysis and validation of historical market prices, developing software with a graphical user interface of stock market historical data, trends, and predictions, designing, implementing, and backtesting proprietary stock market algorithms, presenting and authenticating algorithm performance to potential investors. Proprietary software was developed using Turbo Pascal, Assembly, and Perl on IBM and Unix systems. The stock market data was collected real-time from two BBS sources and the internet and converted into the proprietary format for analysis. Montgomery County Government (1993) - Contracted to develop software for all schools in the county to calculate the fees involved with renting school property to community users. Responsibilities included coordinating software design between the Community Use of Schools office and the individual users to develop the accounting software to be accurate and user friendly. Quantum Products (1984-1993) - Was the head computer programmer, operator, and systems analyst for a national radiation safety supply company. Responsibilities included creating and maintaining software to: maintain the relational database of customers, calculate and write invoices, print out mailing labels, search for matching fields, manipulate, organize, sort and store data, and produce all output essential for the operations of the business. Other responsibilities included training employees to use the software, and researching and recommending the most cost effective computing machines for daily operations. US Army, Harry Diamond Laboratories (1990) - Worked for a military research and development laboratory. Responsibilities included developing software, recommending new software and hardware for procurement, training coworkers with computer functions, and completing government forms.
Marriott Corporation (1987-1990) - Worked at the international headquarters of a major corporation in various roles. Responsibilities included training on the latest business software packages, using various computer applications for research and data entry, preparing forms for data entry, greeting clients, performing security duties, completing tax documents, and other clerical duties.
Prince George's Community College (1992-1993) - Taught Microcomputer Assembly Programming and Introduction to Computer Programming to college students and working professionals. Responsibilities included preparing the curriculum, assignments, and exams, giving lectures, and grading assignments and exams.
Student Teaching - Computer Applications (1995) - Taught at Wheaton High School in Montgomery County. Responsibilities included preparing lessons to meet county requirements, teaching Computer Applications, monitoring the Computer Lab, assessing student achievement, coordinating lab activities with cooperating teacher, lab assistant, and other teachers and performing other computer related services for the school.
Completed Maryland Teacher Certification in the Post-Baccalaureate Graduate Education program at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in the field of Secondary Mathematics Education.
In May 1992, completed a baccalaureate degree in computer science from the University of Maryland at College Park with Honors.
Coursework also included many graduate level computer science classes, upper level business management, mathematics, and physics classes.
